Random babble from the edge of sleep~

Hello!  I heard a quote that I thought was delightful, I got it  from  the show Being Erica, who got it from “Ziggy” but never the less here it is:

You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice that thorns have roses.

I love it!

Hmm my sleepy tea is kicking in, so I don’t have a lot to say..  Went shopping on Thursday, delighted to find I’m a Large rather than an Extra Large~  very exciting to me! When on my all day shopping adventure, I only had a pop, as per usual when I’m at the mall  I’m scared of random food, frankly.  Grease, and Gluten, and Garbage Oh my!  I was sure to have a good breakfast first.  Whole grains are the way to go :)   As soon as it is not screaming cold out I am going to be working on learning to run a 5k~  I have never been able to run that sort of distance since I was in High school, so I will be proud in the 10 weeks or so that it takes me to achieve this goal..  Regarding food choices, been good, eating same things previously recorded,   and the recipe I posted… Azuki fried rice, as well as one I will post tomorrow which is Vegan Chap Chae. Well, I am very tired, so I will and this random post! <3 Stay strong, Beauties!

Not a ton to say today,  Just say what I did today to achieve my goals I guess!

Breakfast:  The standard~  Hot, plain gluten free cereal and some fresh fruit

Lunch:  Quinoa with roasted veggies (leftovers) and tons of Broccoli

Dunner: 1 slice gluten free brown rice bread with soy cheese, 1/2 apple,  1 cup edamame beans, half a bag of fresh steamed spinach,

Other: Tons of tea, 5 almonds

Exercise:  10 minutes of ab video, cardio workout,  a Rodney Yee yoga video -  Power Yoga: Stamina

Other than that, Just drew a lot today, buncha silly stuff .  Hope everyone is having a good, successful day today!

Wow, thanks for all the great support!

All your comments were so nice, and so helpful, it really means a lot to me :)   I often see the internet as a very apathetic place, where people  can be inclined to “vent” to much with the mask of anonymity.  I am quite happy to have stumbled on to this site!!!

Last nights dinner went splendidly, we had hot pot, and I managed to completely skirt the animal products.  I had Miso broth and just  munched on tons of spinach (one of my favorites anyway), tofu, woodear mushrooms, and sprouts.  They didn’t seem to feel the urge to play food police on me, and didn’t notice or care that I didn’t eat meat.  They arent horrible, just very set in thier opinions.  Chinese new year was a festival of meat, and I couldn’t get away from that get to gether so comfortably, heh :)

Zhaynya, you commented that you gained weight off a vegan diet..  A lot of vegans seem to eat too many simple carbs for the easier way to eat.  I’ve been known to indulge in gluten free vegan frozen waffles with peanut butter on them … a vegan option, but not one that caused me to have a lot of luck on reducing!  Now days I try to make sure that 80-90% of my foods are  made from vegetables or fruit, don’t add any salt (which is bland ’till you get use to it), and try to keep things as un refined as possible.

Today’s food choices were:

Breakfast : 1 Serving Bobs  hot cereal, plain.  About 1.5 cups of various fresh cut fruits.

Lunch:  Whole steamed edamame beans, 1 cup…  Half a bag of steamed spinach with  no salt seasoning… a ton of broccoli.. and a desert from ingredients that my mother inlaw sent home with me last night —   fresh ginko, some sort of papery bean curd stuff, and raw rock sugar,  tossed into boiling water and simmered for 20 mins.

Dinner: Haven’t done it yet, but I made some fresh gluten free brown Rice bread, so probably that, some steamed veggies, and more ginko desert..

In addition to that I made a ton of teas to help my husband’s tummy.  He didnt abstain from meat last night, and is now paying :)   so 1 tea has hawothorne fruit and gogji berries, the other  is 5 flower tea.   1st one is for health, 2nd is to detoxify you~

I have been vegan (this time) about 5 months and have lost a bit over 20 lbs (I barely avoided hitting the dreadful 200 lbs)..  it’s not been as quick as I  would like, but, I haven’t been exercising like I should~  and have been a bit (or very?) inactive with the  freezing winter (omg excuses).

My First Post!!

Hello there, so this is my first post, and I’m not sure what to say~  I guess I’m a little intimidated by all  the trackers and counters, I guess I’ll find my way around someday, huh?  :)

I’m usually Vegan(ish), but tomorrow is my traditional chinese mother in law’s birthday, and of course that involves her shoving meat in my face, and the guilt and drama are not worth it to me… so tomorrow, I will (maybe, probably) eat meat.  and Sunday I will be sick!  I will see how sneaky I can be, maybe I can eat some veggies/tofu and act full? Maybe she wont notice I didn’t eat any meats?  Heh.  Believe me, Sir Paul McCartney would eat a steak to get this lady off her back.

I haven’t done the food log thing or exercise log thing, but today I had:

Breakfast: a serving of Bob’s gluten free cereal(no sugar or other weirdness, thats not how I roll :p ) and a bowl of mixed fresh fruits

Lunch: Quinoa (made with slivered almonds, celery, carrots, and veggie broth), roasted veggies, steamed spinach, and gai lan(another veggie, aka:chinese broccoli)

Dinner: Bowl of whole grain gluten free cereal with Organic soy milk.  Black Sesame desert, a little fattening, but supposedly good for you, according to my in laws.

Other: Lots and lots and lots and lots of  tea.

Exercise:  Light weights from a video called Star Trainers which I love… Violet Zaki.. then 10 mins of abs from Star Trainers, then 30 mins of Belly dancing cardio, felt good after, a little tired..

Now it’s midnight and I’m starving.. well that’s too bad!
